Guys,

If I can get us a 50% discount on the Xpel clear bra, would you be interested?

Will need at least 10 orders for 50% off.

Let me know if you want in to the group buy.

Thanks,

John

50% off of...?

Where can I find out more about what the kit covers (drawings?)Right now I have only the $995 Lotus option to compare it to. Would you say X-Pel covers more or less than Lotus?
Also, how would the application of the film be handled ? Does the company (Xpel) have professionals that go around and do the install ?
I'm in if we can get the 50% discount.

So far we have:
1) Johnny B
2) agent.5
3) Huggy Bear

Copy paste this list and add your name as you go along.

DIY install correct? Is it possible to only order the front lower and upper kits? I don't want the side protection kit.

xpel.com

also search for the xpel thread here I remember a pic posted.
Here's the link to their kits for the Elise.

Auto Clear Guard

They do have installers around the country that they can refer us to for the installation.

I've installed the Xpel clear bra on my Passat and it's just like working with window tint. A good window tint shop could install it too.

Please let me know what other questions you have so I may get them answered.

Thanks!
So somewhere around $385 for the full kit including headlights? I'm interested! I would want to make sure someone qualified can do the install though, and get a price for that. Steve
Count me in. Do we yet have an estimate on the price installed?
I'm going to check with them on install options/prices.

Will also see if we can include kits for other cars in the GB so we can increase our participation numbers.
How does Xpel compare to the 3M/Star Shield stuff? From what I see the 3M film has an orange peel appearance in some lighting. I'm very happy with the Armorglove film on my Elise...little or no o.p.

Here's an "orange peel" example on Star Shield:

Johnny,

Have you spoken with MichaelTT/YELOTUS about his install with Protective Film Technologies? I have an idea, if we can have a day of installs, then perhaps we can get it at a great price. I'm willing to drive to DC to meet everyone and have my film installed by the guys that did the work on Michael's car.

Perhaps PM him to get the info?

Just thinking..
I haven't talked with him.

I'm looking to buy mine at the GB price and have it installed in Houston.

I'm going to talk with Ryan at Auto Clear Guard tomorrow and see what he suggests install wise for those across the country that buy his kits.

I'll keep everyone posted. I'd love to get together with everyone on a day of clear bra installs, but there's no way on earth I'm driving to DC. :D
Just to make sure I have the details right, are we talking about this set of XPel patterns?

Code:
H4102-1	2004-2005 Lotus Elise Headlight Kit	$ 69.95
P4102	2004-2005 Lotus Elise Paint Kit $224.96
P4102A	2004-2005 Lotus Elise Paint Kit $242.96
P4102B	2004-2005 Lotus Elise Paint Kit $233.96
Sub Total	=	$771.82
At half off that price?
Maybe if you guys have an installation day, someone can video tape an install, so the rest of us in the west coast can watch the video and maybe DIY.(I like to play with fire)

For some reason, the word 'Houston' didn't register. ;)

I'll drop a line to him to see what he says for us in this area.

No problem. Although, I'd get my car broken in with a trip to DC. :D

Just emailed Ryan at autoclearguard.com.

Will keep you guys posted,

John
Hello Guys. I was told to help out with some questions.
I am offering 50% off the xpel price if you can get a small group together. You can either go to my site, www.autoclearguard.com or go to xpel.com for the prices. Just subtract the 50% off. My site is currently marked down 10% so just take another 40% off.

Answer to the Questions that I found:

1. Yes it is the xpel pattern. You do have to contact me to get the discount though and try not to spread the word to much. I am just helping the Lotus forum out. If you are in FL, I can do the install for you.

2. Orange peel - That film that is on the car is not suppose to do that, especially 3m film. I have seen other films do that such as avery and sometimes the older 3m film. Did you see the installer put the film on? Was it for sure 3m? If it was, it is defin the older stuff. There is a new 3m material out now that has been available since 5/04. The new film elimates all orange peel and is suppose to look better on white cars. The new film also comes with a 5 year warranty and a 1k paint protection gaurantee.
The only reason, I question if it was 3m is that I have installed several hundred cars in the past 3 years and none of them had an orange peel look.

For installers, I can find everyone an installer, You just have to e-mail me your zip code and I can arrange an installer for you. Most installers generally charge 150-250 for install.

If you have any questions or perhaps i missed something please let me know.

Thanks
Ryan

Ryan, 40% off your prices would be less than 50% off the xpel prices.
