I was thinking it might look good stainless or silver. Anyone every paint theirs or done photoshop for it?

Similar idea as the Esprit

I actually like them black. If I had the Esprit in the photos you used I would probably paint them black.

Most people seem to make things black on these cars and not the other way around.

I agree with Chuck. I think they look much much better black. In fact i just got a black diffuser, and i'm looking for some black wheels to add to my car.

I did a really quick photoshop of the grills. Just to get a rough idea of what it might look like.

+1. Wow, looks much worse in silver than I would have thought. If you're looking for something to do, add the raised letters. Also, if you haven't painted your center console and engine covers I'd highly recommend it, especially in your color.

I have pictures (have not taken them off the camera yet) of a Polar Blue Elise I put stripes on and they painted the whole black rear panel polar blue. It looked very "off". Was a local restoration shop too, I would not of expected that from them. I think the car had been wrecked a few times though, and maybe someone along the line didn't realize they were supposed to be black. It looked more "bad repair" than "customized"

lc_09 Thanks for the photoshop pic. I think I agree, it does not look as good as I thought it might. I really like the look of it on the Esprit but I think the difference is the Elise already has a silver diffuser and the grill does not go all, having that black center piece with license plate. Thanks for all your input.

You can also do what I did and change the decals to black and put on a black diffuser. A LotusTalk member made the decals for me. Can't remember his LotusTalk name but I have his name and address yet.

SweetDaddyD can probably make the decals. I have his ELISE decal on my front plate slot (my best mod!)

Probably but he did not make mine. Cory made mine out of Ohio. They have held up better than the original as the chrome ones from the factory were peeling on two of the letters.

I just remembered who did my rear decals: cory1000
They were easy to apply. I just used some green masking tape under the old letters and made little marks where the letters go. My thumb nail was all I needed to remove the original.
