...the sound of fiberglass breaking? It's very loud. The first accident I have ever been in (as a driver), and it had to be my elise.

I was stopped in my parking lot and one of my neighbors pulled in and didn't see me (he said he looked down for a second when his cellphone rang). He didn't look up until he hit me.

Anyway, it sucks... I think they will have to replace the entire front clam.

I can't believe how many of you have already been in accidents.

There aren't even very many Elises here yet, and already 4 or 5 of you from this board have gotten into an accident.

Anyway, sorry to hear about your car... hopefully you can get it fixed soon.

wow, that sucks. Even with CO people are still not going to see this car.

What I don't like about the Elise is the one piece clams for the front and back. For any small amount of damage you are going to replace the whole damn thing instead of in sections, which obviously would be cheaper.

Sorry xfactor.

It looks in ways very similar to my front clam, though more of my damage is hidden behind the grill and underneath.

But the same concern is what it will take to fix it. Because under closer inspection, you can see stress cracks and damage spread out over a sizable area.

Do you (and I) need to replace the entire clam? Is that a better idea for us?

And if we do replace the clam, what do we do with the old one?

You should be glad you're not driving a 340R... All one big piece.
