Okay, I'm removing the cylinder head to replace a broken valve (and whatever other damaged parts I find) and I find that the long bolt that attaches the accessory belt tensioner assembly is too long to be completely removed. The bolt runs into the frame.

Will I be able to remove the timing cover and this tensioner assembly simultaneously? Can someone who has performed this task give me some guidance on this?

You should be able to jack the engine up a enough to get enough clearance (after unfastening a 3 of 4 of engine mounts to get it free - leave the back engine mount in place). I had to have a go at this bolt (I took the engine out) after it sheared off at the race track due to being over torqued at the factory. Major PITA - I lost the head gasket from over heating and had to drill out the old bolt.

Kind of figured that. Ridiculous, IMO.

Thanks.

I had that bolt snap on me and had to replace it, what a pain in the a$$, to change 1 bolt I had to take the rear clam off . if you take the right side motor mount off and lift (or jack up) that side of the motor you should be able to get the bolt out, but it is a VERY tight fit. I had pry bars and was just bearly able to get the stupid bolt in there.
