I found write up for removing the sills and the center console. Anyone know of one for the binnacle?

Follow <a href=http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f129/lotus-cluster-removal-installation-zeroing-needles-48747/>Randy's Lotus Cluster Removal</a> instructions... but stop when you get the binnacle (or in his words, cowling) off... :p

See: http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f101/my-dash-removal-instructions-37404/

If you're talking about the instrument cowling above the dashboard…
- remove the two screws on either side of the steering wheel surround
- remove two screws on the bottom of the steering wheel surround
- you may see some more screws that will get the cowling free (I can't quite remember)
- the cowling is held on with 4 spring clips and a piece of velcro that's attached to the dash. so, lift up the portion of the cowling that's closest to the windshield and that rests on the dash and then pull the entire assembly straight toward the rear of the car. you will have to pull steady and with constant pressure because those spring clips are buggers.

bad news: you will almost certainly drop one or more spring clips into the dash area which you will not be able to reclaim unless you remove the entire dash.

So, have some additional spring clips handy or be prepared to pull the dash to reclaim the spring clips to re-attach the binnacle.
