About to take off from San Diego to Santa Barbara tonight, then on to Big Sur tomorrow night, then up to Chico for work for a couple weeks. Will make it to Thunderhill for the Tuesday track day. Definitely longest trip I've taken in the Elise. Wish me luck!

It must be Highway 1 to Big Sur. The gas stations south of Big Sur must be $6 now, so fill up before you pass Moro Bay. Leave early to avoid the RVs. Good luck.

mind your back. You will break it driving that distance in a short amount of time. Take a towel or extra padding.

Drove from almost Ventura county to La Jolla and back in one day including a drive to Julian. My back was destroyed when I got home.

The drive was actually very pleasant. Brought along the lady friend and we drove 4 hours each day, for three days, usually taking a break in the middle. Santa Barbara, Big Sur, Pebble Beach, Monterey, Santa Cruz. Some incredible scenery most of the way and some great twisties around Big Sur.

My '05 seats with faulty lumbar inflater used to kill my back on long drives but I swapped out for a set of Probax Exige seats from an '07. Not having any issues with back pain anymore. I sat in an Alfa 4C yesterday and was very jealous of how comfy the seats were tho.

Thunderhill was excellent and my first time there. Lots of nice folks and some sweet cars. Huge Lotus turnout and a challenging track. It's going to take a long time to learn all 5 miles of it! It was my first non timed track day and I was thankful for that. Very excited to go back now that I have a better idea of the track layout.

The Laguna Seca event with Speed Ventures in June looks to be great but unfortunately can't make it.
