Hello All,

I struck a piece of metal at highway speeds. No idea what it was. I'd say it was about the size of a beer can but heavy and solid. It made a sickening thud and loud metallic clang in the cabin.

Not Catbird type damage http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f3/road-hazard-last-night-annapolis-63353/ but I did get a flat tire and there is fiberglass damage just forward of the rear wheel.

Tomorrow I'm bringing the vehicle to Synaptic3 Engineering Synaptic3 Main Page so they can put it on the lift and take a look for anything I haven't seen.

Looking for advice on fiberglass repair and recommendations in the So. NH or Boston area.

Yes, the car is filthy. It was just washed last weekend, but I'm just about daily driving it in the New England winter. Can I wash it or would that damage the fiberglass further?

Thanks for your advice.

I will never forget the first "it's totalled" reply I got..
Damn if the members here didn't nail it!
Best of luck on your repair..

Sorry this happened to your car. That is my biggest fear with the Elise.
You can wash it just be careful around the damage.
