I just received 8 blanks today (mail order old key style)

I went to the hardware store and we went through 4 sets only one works on one side and it needs a lot of "persuasion"
We the tried aligning from the tip and from the base but wasted 4 blanks.
Does anybody have any insight on how to get a working copy?
I still have 4 blanks.....

Thanks

I had heard others had problems going to hardware stores to get keys cut (using blanks they brought in). I went to an actual locksmith shop and they had no problems using my blanks.

I went to a hardware store out here called OSH. The guy cutting the key said he didn't think it would work, but it works fine. I would say you should find a good locksmith that cuts keys professionally. I thought those blanks were pretty expensive.

Where did you get the key blanks? One of my keys has gone mysteriously missing, and I feel insecure with just one.
