Hi All,

I'm working on my Elise and I had to remove the seat belt mount temporarily, but when I did that, it retracted way too far and now the ratchet has engaged. I can't figure out how to release it. I've removed the seat belt retractor but I don't see a ratchet release anywhere obvious. Has anyone hit this before? Right now, it's retracted so far, that I can't even attach it to the seat.

Oh, I found something that may help. This looks annoying:

05 seat belt fully retracted, not releasing!

Great day! I can not get the seat belts to come out of the retractor. Seems letting them go in too far may be the issue. Sure can see where the nylon roller should reset, and be able to release the gear lock. Will snap a picture, or see if I can figure a video soon

This was some sort of fluke. The other side seat belt didn't lock when retracted far, so I figured that maybe the inertia mechanism got stuck for some reason, and rotated the thing every which way until it released. It's fine now. Go figure.
