I have an 05 Elise. To turn the AC in the car on, I push the little AC button with the fan turned on. "When I stop the car and restart it, the AC is off." I have to push the little AC button again to get it going again.

I have been in an 06 Elise and the AC stays on when you stop and restart the car.

So, does my AC have a problem or are all the 05's like mine?

Thanks
Joe

My 2005 behaves just like yours. It resets OFF when engine restarts.

WOW......................Sounds like it is an 05 thing that they corrected in 06 and on.

I will have to see if the 06 button is different than the 05.

Thanks for all the replies.

Mine is a bit more complicated, if fan was left on, the AC will remain on... otherwise it resets the same as you guys. The recirculate button seems to always turn off for me

If you replace the switch pack(to the later revision, A to C I think,) that sits behind the instrument cluster it changes how this works.

My '05 used to work as described but I replaced the switch pack because one of my full beam lights was temperamental it changed the behaviour of the air con. Now it stays how it was when I stop and restart the car.

My '06 resets the recirculate switch, but not the A/C.
