Patricko,
Only at about 300, the weather today slowed me down. Also, almost got my first ticket in about 20 years today.

Driving down a back road at 80, my friend says slow down, lots of police on the road, I'm down to 65 (10 over) next turn, their he is coming the other direction, flashed his blue lights but never turned around to come get me, got a gift today, I think.

This thing is a speeding ticket waitiing to happen. Probably going to make an appt for the 1000-1500 mile after sales service first week in August.

It was my understanding that the first service was at 600 miles and that you were not allowed to go over a certain RPM (without voiding your warranty) until after the first service.

Is that not correct?

Thanks,

Patrick
Patricko,
I think I posted the breakin on the GOT MINE thread. The break in period to 600 miles is to use moderate throttle, stay below the cams, bursts over moderate throttle for short periods are beneficial. After 600 miles you can start getting into the cams, but don't drive the car to it's full potential until after the after sales service which can be carried out between 1000 and 1500 miles.

I'm like you, til I read the manual I thought it was at 600 miles.

Chris
Thanks for the clarification.

Try to spend more time with Liz tomorrow:D

Is it required that this service be done by the dealer, or can it be done at home without causing warranty issues?

Paul
Snow,
I don't know about requirements. But Lotus wants to do this aftersales service to be able to due the data dump on the onboard computer, tells them about any problem areas, gives them a snapshot as to how the engine was used during that period . I posted in another thread I think the "GOT MINE" or "Post pics of your elise" detailing the service intervals listed in the manual.

Chris
Chris,
Thanks for the service duration update. A couple of days ago I had a call from my dealer and I'm looking at delivery early Dec, in the midwest winter. 600 miles is a round trip run to the dealer from my house, 1500 gives me leeway to get through the snow season and then go back.
