You may have read about some techniques mfgrs have to measure this.

I have precisely none of those to use.


But,

Check body to door gaps. Measure & note them if you like.

Jack up one corner of the car and see how much gaps have changed. Typically tighter at top now.


Eg:

Elan with stock sheet metal chassis - door gaps clearly changed.

Elan with tube frame Spyder chassis - gaps did not change.

(I was happy....)
