Somewhat common questions are in regard to Cam Timing. It's not all that uncommon to see it done incorrectly on these motors. I put together a couple quick ways to check cam timing...
1 Way is with a scope. Not everyone has a scope, but if you do, you can look for the right wave form. Only downside to this is that it won't tell you if the exhaust cam is off... This is a nice and quick/clean test though.
