I am proud to say that I blew by that at barber at log 29 on the front straight. The fact is though it was having a few issues...running way rich, over filled gas tank which was spraying gas all over my car. I didn't get a wave by so I just passed it and glad I did as it shot out a 12ft flame and caught the track on fire for a few seconds. I have footage of the pass but not the flame part. Anyway, they worked all day and never got it running right. I wonder if they got it setup right...

I saw the car last month at Hypersport. Kirt told me that there just was not enough time to field the project, as he is so involved with Patrick Dempsey's Rolex race team. They were working on one of the planned two Mazda RX8s at the time.
Also, the Speed Challenge schedule was the same weekends at the Rolex races.

Rumors of Lotus Exige competing in World Challenge at Long Beach this April and not the Hyper Sport car.
SCCA Pro Racing World Challenge
Nothing in the rules yet, but apparently back channel negotiations has allow for 2 entries in this year's race - additional driver(s) considering joining the fun ... or the spanking likely on this HP track. Tough to go up against 425 to 525 whp cars down on a track with 2 long straight, with "only" 300 to 350 whp, no matter how large the weight and handling advantage.

Further rumors of the Evora getting ready to race in the US.

The driver facts have R3 Motorsports fielding and Exige S. I wonder is those guys can shed some light.
That's what I'm hearing. Looking for more details.

Rumor is Lotus Exige S classed in Tour Car class (TC), not GT or GTS as the Hyper Sport car was classed. I think the Lotus can be competitive in TC. But not competitive or very difficult to be competitive in GT or GTS as just too difficult to go up against 500 whp cars at tracks with long straights.

Long Beach Grand Prix is a great race to watch in person.

I recommend the Super Photo Ticket.

Got a call into R3.
Just spoke with Kirt of Hyper Sport, but may have feed him misinformation.
I have Kirt's uprights, as does Robb, both of us run in LCS and working on set-up with the Hyper Sport uprights. Mike has been running the Nitron uprights:
