Hi Everyone!

I finally got my new to me 2005 Lotus Elise! I have wanted this car since 2005, and have waited patiently (it was so hard). I can't believe I am an official owner now, and it's one of the best feelings I have had since getting married, my new job, and my new house.

Although I have only a few posts, I have been on here since 2005 and reading through many many posts - my wife would always be like "You're on there again", and just learning through your responses and just so intrigued about all that I was learning through you guys, and admired how everyone helped each other out (except those people who didn't search the forum first).

I live in California, in the SF bay area, and look forward to meeting the local Lotus Elise/Exige owners in the near future. See ya later.

Please let me be the first one to say congrats. The good thing with all the time you spend on this forum is that you now know all there is to know about this car.

SLOWLY and SIDEWAYS in and out of driveways - protect the underside of the front of your new Lotus.

Get a new can of Fix-A-Flat, wrap it in foam and keep it in your trunk. The little can that comes with the car is not good enough.

Put a small towel under the passenger seat for early morning window fog.

Check your oil regularly: if you hear the valves chattering, top off your oil.

Check your radiator fluid level and top it off regularly.

If you need a new windshield wiper, use Bosch.

Find a place that can get you new tires in a hurry if you need them...have them change the tires "on the ground," not on a lift if possible.

And be careful - people in SUV's can't see you.

What did you expect from a race car for the street?

HAVE A BLAST!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D

Wow, thank you all! You guys are totally awesome for your comments and suggestions - will do. Just came back from taking the Elise out for a full fill up at the local Costco. On the way there, some kids yelled "Cool car". I gave them the thumbs up. This car is so amazing! :coolnana:

awsome story, I love that you have been a member for so long and so patient. I only hope the ownership experience lives up to the dream. Best of luck and enjoy...
