I just removed the GRP side scoops from my 2011 Elise R and attempted to install the stock factory scoops. I was unable to get the scoops in from the outside, so when it was up on a lift at my mechanics, he tried to remove the wheel well cover and insert them from the inside, but he said that he could not find a way to insert them in place without having to distort them or the clam, and he was afraid of breaking something. Is there a trick to this?

They go in from the back side. you should not really have to bend anything (maybe slight pressure) it is not the most straight forward, and it has to snake into place

I had to break off an inner clip to get it to work. See this thread
