It would be nice to have collated list of insurance prices. Please post the following

Company
6 month quote/rate/deductible
age/sex/driving record
pertinent stuff, ie. multi car, clean record, home/auto combo.

Please keep the posts pertinent to above data. Let's keep this one just for data so people can have get a comparative idea without sifting through discussion. Thread for discussion already exist:

I would avoid GEICO on PRINCIPLE

My understanding is that they buy Radar and Laser guns for police departments, provided they issue so many tickets.

It is a great investment for them as they then get to charge higher premiums for those poor souls that get tickets!

Hagerty insurance,

$750 yrly policy,
single car policy, limited usage required,
32 yr old single male clean driver record and top credit score.
Must have a garage for this policy.

Surely you jest.

I've been with GEICO for many years because they meet my requirements for choosing an insurance company: great service and the best prices.

Crud, I feel like I'm not getting a very good rate here.

Geico
~$870/6 months, $1k deductible
31/female/single/clean record
secondary car, though no multicar discount (main car insured w/another company)
8k miles/year limit

Guess I'll shop around some more and perhaps switch.

Just curious, for those who have problems with Geico, can you perhaps either start a new thread, or expound on an old one (perhaps here: http://www.elisetalk.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7673 ) about Geico about what is wrong with them?

~$450/6 mo. increase (don't remember the exact number)
$500 deductible on comp & collision

29/male/single/clean record

multi-car, multi-policy, & good driver discount
registered as pleasure vehicle (discount)
~5K miles/year

edit: heck, now I don't remember - it was either ~$450 or ~$600 increase... I remember being pleasantly surprised which leads me to believe it was the lower, but I carry an awful lot of insurance which makes $450 sound low... who knows.

You should try getting both of your cars on the same policy as the multi car discount typically makes a sizable difference. Re: GEICO, if you do a search you'll see lots of folks (like me) with nothing but great experience. I suspect the people slamming the company either were denied coverage by GEICO or have no first hand experience.

Geez, how do all of you guys have such clean records? No wrecks for me, but I have a lead foot . No Elise for me yet, but I get pretty good rates on my 2003 MR2. Especially since I just turned 25. My rates cut almost in half when that happened :D . If my Elise rates are less than double what I pay now, I will be happy. Anything more and I might have to consider not buying.
