Last night the 2012 IPS did not go all the way into Park when I shut if off. This morning it was all locked up with the Gear telltale. It went into forced Neutral and would not let me shut off the ignition. I pushed and rocked it but no change. I had to disconnect the battery to get it to reset. Then I was able to start it in Neutral. The gearbox would then cycle between R, D, N and Park.

I got these fault codes:
P172A, P1910, P1925

Here is why the ignition couldn't be turned off (from the Transmission section FA of the Service notes):

The Auto ignition switch incorporates solenoid, which, when energised prevents the switch being returned to the fully off position. As the ignition is turned off, the TCU via pin 73 grounds the key interlock solenoid within the ignition lock. This physically prevents the key barrel being turned back to the fully off position to remove the key.
Once P – Park has been selected from the PRND selector console and the transmission is in park the TCU will de-energise the key interlock solenoid & allow the key to be turned to the fully off position of the lock travel and the key can be withdrawn from the lock barrel.
As the vehicle has Auto Park the transmission will (provided vehicle is stationary) go straight into park when the ignition is turned off, making the interlock system hard to notice as the vehicle will have gone into park before the driver can get to the key removal stage.
However if the driver attempts to remove the key while the vehicle is still moving then the TCU would activate the key interlock solenoid, thereby preventing key removal until the vehicle was stationary and in park.
Disconnecting the Battery
The transmission will default to P- Park rendering the vehicle immobile if the battery is disconnected or becomes discharged.

So, now she's in learn mode for the TCU (shift lights flashing side to side etc.) and I have to teach her how to shift again...... BUT, I can't seem to find the official TCU adaptive shift relearn procedure.

Evora Transmission re-learn procedure

I did this re-learn procedure (below) that secretsquirrel posted on the way home from work. It finished and all shift lights are now off (procedure complete) and the Gear telltale with exclamation point went away. Scan shows no codes now. All is well again.

Here's the procedure. I bolded the key actions/points.

"You need to start out in sport mode, manual. Start going until you hit 4th gear. The lights will tell you less torque or more torque. Do not give it more than 20% throttle. You want the light to stay in the middle. If the left light turns on, less torque. If the right light turns on, more torque. If the middle light is on, keep it there.

Once 4th gear is done, all lights will come back on and the right light will blink. This is telling you it now wants 5th gear, so shift up one and follow the above process again. It will do the same thing and then ask for 6th gear. Once you've done 4,5,6.. all lights will go out. I ended up needing a highway for 5th and 6th gear, as I was doing over 60mph to do the re-learns in those gears. I didn't want a ticket going down side streets!

You now need to run the car through ALL the gears in non-sport mode, automatic (not manual). You need to run from 1-6 and 6-1, with no more than 20% throttle, for 15 minutes. This helps it calculate the fluid dynamics of the tranny. When you do the 6-1, slow down gradually. Do not do "blip" shifts, as it will not learn if it does a blip shift (basically quick deceleration). This is called the "Green Learn".

Once you are done with your 15 minutes of up and down shifts in automatic mode, you now need to drive the car on the highway at 70mph for a minimum of 20 seconds. After 20 seconds, slow down to a speed of 50mph, then speed up to 70mph again. Again, hold it for 20 seconds minimum. You need to do this 3 times.
