i was showing my brochures on the Lotus and the Corvette to a buddy of mine. he told me whatever car i picked to not get red. he says red is becoming more and more a feminine color nowadays.

thoughts?
does a red Elise look good with a guy behind the wheel?

What! That is ridiculous. So your friend must think Ferraris are girls cars.

Every time I go to a car show I see girls around the Ferraris, so they must be!

IMO, if a car looks equally good in non-red, I'd pick that over red anytime.

Red is so stereotypical of 'sports' car (read Ferrari) that any red car is perceived as a Ferrari-wannabe.

Lamborghini's and Lotus's color choices make red kind of obsolete and redundant.

The only car the looks good in red only is the NSX. Somehow an NSX in any other color looks 'cheap'.

As to your question, my answer would be

Just get the color you like. Who cares what others think...
+1 and if it happens to be red than go with it!

I did and NO REGRETS! Its a proper sportscar color.

Based on what I have learned in almost 13 years of marriage, women do not use the term red for that part of the color spectrum--cherry, wine, crimson, brick, cranberry maybe but not red. And I now know the difference between biscuit, bone and ecru.

Five of these guys drive red Elises (one is parked in the garage). So, I would say no.
....coz they're bigger than you?
