Hi, I have recently had someone install a Moroso oil pan for me. Yesterday when I was changing engine oil I noticed a gear next to the oil pan is exposed in plain sight (see attached picture)

Given the underside of the car is covered, it probably is ok, but I am not sure if the car came from the factory like this. Any ideas?

Thanks.

There is a black plastic cover on my car there. It fell off once and I put it back on. I think it was just a snap in piece. I am not sure if it fits with an aftermarket pan.

As i recall a small cover goes there, mainly to keep rocks and dust away from the clutch. Probably not a big deal.

Thanks for the prompt replies. Given that it falls off eventually I guess I'm good. Good to save some weight anyways.;)

Same thing happened to me before.
Lotus tech found the cover was missing and
fixed it without charge.
