Titanium would have a slightly brown base vs the blueish base in the gunmetal.

I think something similar might be the difference between seal and slate grey in the porsche lineup. (Though the difference appears to be much more minor)

Thanks everyone! :) I was thinking TI would be a similar to Seal Gray.

I too am having a hard time deciding on color. The Euro blues are attractive, red is exotic, yellow is beautiful (but to extroverted for me), and silver/TI are classy.

I hope Lotus USA will update their site with actual photos vs. photoshoped colors before ordering begins.

Hmm... anyone else here on the board who has seen a gun metal elise in the flesh, because I saw one a couple of months ago, but it looks like these pictures are too dark. Gunmetal really is a couple of shades lighter, like the first three pictures you posted.

I was think the same thing. These images have a more greenish tone to them. But the ad does say Gun metal. Maybe it was a cloudy day in England? ;)

It's probably the camera or maybe it's the Mac software used to create the gallery although that looks unlikely. Could also be he retouched the photo's to match his monitor which might have been set too light.

That's the current problem with those digital photo's: everybody has different brightness settings and the like...

And of course they all look better in the flesh (although gun metal and british racing green actually disappointed me).

When deciding on the colour I've only seen a couple of colours in the flesh and most under showroom lights. I ruled out a couple, but they later on got put back on my wishlist. Eventually I just went for Ice Blue. The aqua was tempting though...

I need to visit you, Armitage, you lucky person. I am lusting over Ice Blue, and Aqua intrigues me, based totally on pictures, since I haven't seen either in person. But, alas, it seems very unlikely that Lotus will offer these to its US customers, despite the successful push to get Chrome Orange.

Here is a link where the cars are rendered in the proposed US colors in a better format than on the Lotus web site (I don't know what happened to Ardent Red though).

Is this your site? I've had a request for getting pictures of my site to put on this one. The picture of the Titanium Storm (Storm Titanium) doesn't look good. It's way too blueish in the picture and should be more like the own I posted it earlier on the thread.

I'm not 100% sure on this one though, since I have yet to see a Storm Titanium in the flesh.

Selecting colour was difficult for me too. In the last year, except for a Lotus day when I got my car and the dealer showroom (limited number of cars and colours) I've only seen one or two Elises. There really really seldom over here in the Netherlands. Doubt if there are more than 200 Elises in the Netherlands (population of 16 milion).

Sorry, Armitage, not my site. I'm definitely not computer-savvy enough to do that. However, I believe that it belongs to someone registered either to this forum or the Lotus one. I did a Google search for Lotus Elise yesterday and stumbled upon it. I had seen the site before, but not this section with the model specs and pix. Perhaps the owner will step up and comment. He/she needs to get Chrome Orange on there, as well as Ardent Red.

I haven't been to Amsterdam since 1973, but I had a great time. Oops, I should claim that I was only 2 years old at the time, or else you will figure out that I am an old fossil now (true, unfortunately, but still buying an Elise).

You are all talking sh*t! :) First of all, the photos are mine, of my old car. The colour is very accurate. The photos of the lighter looking car in the pics further above are of a Storm Titanium. Gunmetal (aka Graphite Grey) is a lot DARKER than storm titanium. Oh and btw - always nice to presume the owner is a 'he'...

I didn't think that graphite and gunmetal were the same color.

Confirmed to be Graphite:

It looks similar, but pictures of what I have believed to be gunmetal have always had less blue than this.

BTW, how sure are you about the first three pictures being Storm titanium?

Welcome.

Unless I am confused (not out of the question!) I think the "he" armitage was referring to was the person selling the darker car, and they were talking about those pics being a little "off."
