A brief story of no real interest to anyone but me. About 20 years ago I happened to look down at the odometer of my new motorcyle just as it hit 111.1 miles. That night I went to bed and glanced at the digital display on the clock radio that said 11:11 PM
A couple days later I picked up a scrap of paper in the hall at work and it was an ATM receipt someone had dropped., available balance was $1,111.11. This was the begining of a connection with 1's. First time I played Keno in Vegas I marked 1,11,29,38,47,56,65,74 all the 1's or pairs of numbers that add to 11. I hit 7 out of 8 spots. I go to casinos and play cards on November 11 and January 1 (11/11 and 1/11) and usually do very well. I keep running into digital displays of 11's. It's really become a firmly planted superstition.

I got involved in the Elise thing and put down two deposits of $1K. Just two days ago I was reading the thread about the E names always used by Lotus. I've known all Lotus' also get number designations but didn't know till that thread that the Elise was type 111. OK I know I'm nuts

If NASA revives the Apollo Missions... you're NOT riding in my command module! :p I know, I know... "11" is not an unlucky number, but still...

Pity for you that the S2 is already model M117, so the fed car will probably be model M120 or something like that :)

(I vaguely remember the M119 being the 'soapbox' car used to compete in the downhill challenge at goodwood..)

Bye, Arno.

Even so, it's a cool story. Maybe you should move overseas so you can get it.

Actually, move to Malawi, In Africa, because it's the 111th country (alphabetically). You can live at 111 111th Street in Lilongwe. :p

I don't know about the internal designation, but the blue Elise that was touring the country was a 111 S2.

Any word on if our car will be a 111 or a 190 model?

190 seems to make more sense as the horsepower is around 190.

Nice story. I got married on July 11th (1987), so I'm rather fond of that number also. Plus, when I'm playing blackjack, I love to get 11 in the first two cards so that I can double down. And of course 11 is a winner at craps on the come out roll.

I'd like to know what 7/8 keno spots payed.

It's been a long time, but IIRC it was $270 or so on a $1 bet. Eight out of eight would have been $25,000.
