Its officially 6 am, and that took a couple friends and I a while!

Things that sucked:

Guide is horrible...got it from blackwatch so I guess I don't know who wrote it, but it needs fixing.

Getting the back grill off and not realizing it couldn't come off until the exhaust was super loose.

Getting the actual stock exhaust off. Had to bend a good amount of heatshield. We cut through the weld on the clamp holding the catback to the cat pipe since we couldn't chisel it, and then the two wouldn't separate. After a very long time of trying to get them to part ways, I went to safeway at 4 am or somewhere around that, maybe 3? We bought some WD40 and hot pockets. About 20 min of the WD40 on the slip joint and it was workable.

Things that are awesome:

Everything about this exhaust. Holy jesus does this thing sound amazing! Right when I started the car to come down from the ramps I was just blown away -- granted I have the loud version (not the silent touch). Driving around there definitely is drone but only obviously if you are giving it moderate gas. Simple cruising around can actually be very quiet depending on how you drive.

I get a lot of gurgle and it sounds great. I opened it up a few times and boy does this car sound like it belongs in F1!! Simply put this exhaust makes the car actually sound exotic now. I'm blown away....all this is a very tired rant as it took us quite a while to get what seems to be very little done. This was my first time seriously working on my exige, other than an oil change.

Did I mention it weighs next to nothing? I saved a **** load of weight tonight, or at least it would seem that way (didn't throw anything on a scale). It also mounts much easier than the stock exhaust and is very easy to service, from what I can already gather.

I'm sure I'll have more to say tomorrow. I will also take some HD video of what it sounds like soon.

So....tired.....

Very cool. Thanks for the heads up on the things that can be improved. As a dealer for BOE, this is important feedback. Thanks!

I either want to get this exhaust, or go with the ST and get the Decat. I wish I could find a clip with the ST and no cat though.

Officially is saves an A$$load of wieght, given where the exhaust is located.... :p That said, if you don't mind, please send me a PM with some specifics of what can be improved in the guide. Always looking for ways to improve! Lastly, I am not surprised it was a little painful. The thermal expansion that goes on in the exhaust makes for some tight fasteners etc. etc. I usually start with spraying everything with liquid wrench. Crack a beer(my liquid wrench), finish said beer leisurely, then start.... Everything well lubricated generally makes it go(or seem) smoother.

The 1/4 stick is a great product. I thought the install process was relatively easy. Like Fred says just use some liquid wrench or PB blaster 30 minutes before you start pulling things apart.

My only suggestion would be better clamps to connect the exhaust to the cat (or decat as it be) pipe and exhaust to the tip. I ordered some of S111's clamps, and they seemed to do a better job of providing a good seal/connection.

I need suggestions. I would like to find a decat and exhaust that worked with the OEM manifold. I plan to use the OEM cat for emmisions and decat for the track. I'd also like two bunges in the decat for the wideband and a EGT sensor. I like the idea of a rebuildable exhaust.

Not sure about a test pipe for the OEM manifold, but the PPE header and test pipe/sport cat combo should work well for your purposes. That's what I am running with my TVS kit. If you want to stick with the OEM exhaust header, would it be an option to get a second OEM cat, gut it and have a second bung added?

I need a test pipe to connect to the OEM manifold and a 1/4 stick and I will be in heaven. The header just isn't in the budget right now.

That is the combination I have plus a PPE header.
The sound deep and robust at low rpms and it pops and gurgles
as much as you want depending upon your driving style.

This is how the stock exhaust should have sounded, although it is a bit louder than stock and more visceral without the cat.

The ST is my favorite exhaust of the many I've had, not because it the loudest or pops the most but because it sounds more refined, yet opens up when you want to go.

I am tempted to get the Quarter Stick for track days though, as the reviews have been great.

Fine

I will post a quick video then...:)

I am doing about 65? - no load, then part throttle, then full throttle

The car is a 07 Exige S w/some recent mods..

Cup Airbox
PPE/Decat/Quarterstick+diffuser exit pipe..
3.0 pulley/550 RCs/BOE surge tank/CX 3.0 tune
Chargecooler/RLS pipes

I have longer footage from NJMP, all in car though. My friend in the grandstands on the main straight said my car was loudest in my run group... I should have had him tape me, but totally forgot :wallbang:

A bit loud for the street I must say.. not at cruising, but any throttle and everyone in the next 3 lanes stare at you. For the street, I may repack with fiberglass or buy a ST can and swap, but haven't decided.

I know it's above 95. Wonder if it's 98+
360jeepboy do you want a clip on track or on dyno of decat/ST? I have both.
A month shy of a 9 year-old thread bump. Not sure if that's a record, but I'd guess it's right up there.
