:clap:Hi

I want to fit a honda engine in my elise s1.
I have at the moment a k20a2 engine gearbox.
I want to upgrade the engine with a k24block.

Is this possible? or are the enginemounts special?
What are the differences of the two blocks?

Thx a lot

It depends on what K24 you are talking about. Pre 2009 there is no difference between the transmission flange of the blocks. The timing cover engine mount is the same bolt pattern but higher up on the K24 by around 20 mm. Post 2009 the K24 engines are junk.

aim for the 06-08 ones for slightly better internals and bigger valves and better cams. They bolt right up to the k20a2/type R/S etc 6 speeds. The deck is 20mm higher so take that into account with your mounts and the timing chain side will need either a CRV mount to use most mount kits or a P2R alloy one.

Most mount kits use the gearbox or the gearbox mating to block area of the block for the torque mounts. These are no issue, and obviously the gearbox mount is no issue.

Enjoy:nanner:
