Sorry to ask, but anyone knows the black key code for 2005 elise key with light, I read the tread about the free key (bit older tread and no response) and the key blank codes (x168/B61) listed seem to be unheard of at the local locksmith shops. If anyone has a guiding hand or ring full of blank keys, please be of help. Thanx.

A Miata key blank can be used for an early '05 key blank. The "automated machines" will not work to make a Elise key from a Miata key, but the old fashioned key cutting machines still used in some shops will do the job. The Miata key has an "extra" part that sticks out on the end of the key that has to be "cut off" to use as an Elise key, but it works fine.

I've got one you can have. It's for an '05. It was given to me by an Elisetalk member, so I'll be glad to pass it on. Ace Hardware uses the old type key cutters. Just PM me an address and I'll get it out this week.
