My VF Stg1 kit's MP62 developed a growling noise after ~2mo and 1.5k miles. The engine-related noise appeared suddenly upon hard deceleration on the street (i.e. coming up on traffic). Part-throttle acceleration was affected and the engine bay was much noisier. The noise can be heard in a short video clip here (with an external microphone taking up much of the viewable frame): YouTube - MP62 noise or loose bracket noise?
After taking the car to ForcedFed, it was diagnosed as a bad MP62. Using a 'chassis ear' Casey localized the noise from the blower nose area; possibly a bad bearing since the rotor blades visible from the swan tube port looked ok. After contacting Jermaine at VF, he offered to send out a replacement blower even tho the blower was warranteed by Magnusson. So today, i picked up the car and the noise is gone. So i have to compliment the great support by both VF and the crew at ForcedFed
BTW, While Magnusson will review the blower, Casey localized the likely flaw to be in the blade region down near the nose (based on wear mark patterns). I certainly hope my replacement blower has a longer lifespan than ~2 months and 1.5k miles.
