SUV's like this are more about comfortable transportation for four or more adults than driving the Rubicon trail. I have no problem with them accentuating the S more than the U and in fact think it makes more sense than a supposedly sporty sedan. These are the modern evolution of the Gran Turismo.

and yet.. for the common man: you can buy a 200mph 650hp daily-drivable Mustang Cobra for less then $70k, the base Mustang gets 30+mpg and makes 300hp, 500+hp super-sedans are as common as minivans, 1000hp sports cars are becoming almost passe, sports car manufactures are starting to embrace the light weight philosophy, modern Honda Accords can outrun exotic Italian cars made just 20 years ago, even boring old Toyota is starting to make fun lightweight rwd sports cars.

Chillax guys, its not the end of the world. we're in the golden age of cars.

Well, of course its not really the end of the world.... but you know what I mean. :D

As for Honda Accords beating 20 year old Italian or English exotics....well, maybe in some cases. But, as I said, is it really still just about horsepower? I stopped worrying so much about that statistic a while ago. Its one small piece of the ownership/enjoyment puzzle yet it tends to be the battle cry for many people. Thats fine if thats #1 on peoples lists but doesnt pride of ownership and some of the intangibles come into play? Sure, a V6 Accord might be able to sneak past a 308 Ferrari or an Esprit Turbo in certian conditions. Thats great. But....its a Honda Accord. Its as exciting as a toaster, maybe even less so. Its got no soul, no nothing. Plenty of cars like that today. Yawn.

I just dont put such a premium on pure numbers. If I did, Id buy one of the many cars that outperform the "good old stuff" own strictly from a 1/4 time perspective. Theres just so much more to it than that. Or so I believe.

Thats cool. :)

Come on brother, if I ever buy one I'll buy it blue, just to feel like I'm inside a Viagra pill!! rotfl
Would the color on the dealer order sheet say "throbbing blue metallic"? -eek- :nanner2:
