Hi everyone,

Did a track day last year and another a couple weeks ago. Thought I'd do an oil change.

But when I started taking the screws off the undertray, I knew something was not quite right when I saw some bolts have a little oil seeping through. I was hoping it would be an easy loose sump plug but not unfortunately.

I've attached a number of pics. It 'looks' like most oil drenching is at the bottom of the gearbox. But there's oil all around the sump including where the moroso sump pan joins to bottom of motor. To make matters more interesting, one of the sump pan screws fell off, the bolt was sheared held on by nothing. But I don't think the oil is coming from this point.

I'm not sure if it's motor oil or gear box oil. However, I did take off the gearbox filler screw. It didn't weep oil out and when I stuck my pinky in, I didn't feel oil was up to the top of the hole.

Looking forward to your thoughts on what's going on. Thanks!

Looks a bit similar to my leak I had a while ago...
Check the Lower breather port and dip stick o ring (more of an issue on the exige, but you never know).
The oil pan is held on with rtv, so the bolt isn’t “needed”. FWIW, the hardest repair I have ever done on my car was trying to remove my BOE oil pan (similar to yours) to re seal it.

I would recommend you grab a inspection mirror, it helps a lot in these situations.

Looks like a rear main oil seal leak based on the picture, and it happening after a track day (i.e. high revs = high engine pressure). To tell for certain, use tracer additive with a UV light. If the leak is from your rear main seal, I would recommend replacing your PVC first to see if this fixes the issue. If you happen to be in the SF Bay Area, I can help you trace the leak. I don't check my PMs often so emailing is best.

thanks, will look at the lower breather port. the whole dip stick tube is dry so not that I don't think. good to know the rtv is strong. ?
