Hey everyone, I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself since I'll be going to look at an Elise sometime next week and I'll most likely have some questions. I've been reading the forum (mostly the for sale threads) for over a year now, so I might as well start posting ;)

Thanks. It should be interesting, it looks like one of those too good to be true type deals. 2005 Bordeaux Red Elise w/ 16k miles for $26,000. I'm in northern Delaware so it's a 2 hour drive to the New Jersey dealership. It looks like a pretty standard used car lot, which also scares me a little.

VIN: SCCPC11105HL32224

Not to discourage you, but I've seen that add there for a while now. I don't know much about the dealer as it's in southern NJ, but I remember seeing that add a long time ago for that real low price. You think it would sold by now, but maybe the low price is scaring people off from even looking. I would do a double check or maybe get someone a little closer to check it out for you. Maybe get Sports & Specialist Cars (lotus dealer) who's about an hour away to do a PPI on it for you.

Thanks for the info guys. It looks like the closest Lotus dealership is about an hour away from the car... I'll most likely take the 2 hour drive next week just to look at it. Is there a way to get an ECU dump without visiting a lotus dealership? Maybe with one of those OBDII usb cables? I did a quick search, but I didn't see any other relevant info on the forums.

The only way to get an ECU dump is with the Lotus Scan tool.
