Nice! Fun little roadsters.Love the Spitfire! I grew up riding shotgun in a red '72 Spitfire. My mom actually sold the car and bought it back again. I think it eventually was parted out.
MKIII were very nice also! Haha everyone loves the carbs on Triumphs lol!My first car out of college was a 69 MK III. It was a great car and required constant tune ups to keep the twin carbs balanced. At the time, I thought it was quite the performance vehicle. Looking back at the specs and comparing them to my Evora ... let's just say time has been kind to aging memories of first car loves.

You mean the torpedoes that need a bra? rotflThose bumpers mean business.
Sweet, the GT6 is awesome. Very few of them around also. I had been looking for one but gave up as most of them popping up required complete restorations.Sigh... Makes me miss my 69' GT6+
Northwest suburbs.I see you are from Illinois - whereabouts?
Was at the Michiana Brits show at St Marys (Notre Dame) a few weeks ago. A couple of guys with Spitfires with the Rover V8s crammed into them. They looked fun!!!
Absolutely! Although I'm pretty sure I'll be going with my Mini Moke and not my Elise.Northwest suburbs.
Nice to see another local! Are you attending the British car show at Oakton Community College on 9/11/2011?
I can't imagine how fun they would be with that motor stuffed into them!
haha or crawl into the motor in that area! hahahaLove the Spitfire. Always liked the fact that you could open the hood and sit on the tire to work on them!!
I have a TR in the garage, a 76 with 13K on it, all original!
If you are every in Milwaukee look me up!
Glad you enjoyed it as much as I did haha.Yes, This is awesome!
For sure, since it's mostly old school British there most of the time.Absolutely! Although I'm pretty sure I'll be going with my Mini Moke and not my Elise.
I think I'm going to pop over the Barrington Cruise Night on Thurs. British is the specialty this week!
Thanks, haha unfortunately they need to approve or else you'll never hear the end of it lol. You just have to do a little negotiation, man gets car in exchange wife gets jewelry and everyone is happyNice one! There was a 1600 for sale on my street for a couple of months. I would have loved to have it, but my wife would have served me papers. I didn't notice the massive bumpers on that one like the ones on your car. I would be very tempted to ditch those both front and back.
I'd bet there's a real beauty hiding under those braces and head gear.
