light panel

On my 05 only the engine light switch lights up when the key is turn on. The two button for the lights on come on when they are engaged to turn on the lights. When I got the car, the start light didn't light at all and I found a bad LED in it. I replace it and now it works fine. Since then I have replaced the two switch panel with a three switch panel and added two more switches for aftermarket running lights with halos. They also will only light when I turn on the lights respectively. Hope this helps.

:panic:

If I understand... There is a separate connector that lights up the amber icons next to the buttons. It's easy for this connector to detach if when you remove that panel.

Pull the panel and verify the 2-pin connector to these lights...

My panel lights up. My gut is your bulbs are out or the connector got disconnected. It's simple. Just unscrew the two, be careful with the tabs and check connections.

There are also threads on changing out those little bulbs to even change colors. I did that on my prior '05 to do a red starter button.

Glad to see you got this solved.

I had a problem where just my headlight light on the dash wouldn't turn on. I figured it was a bulb out... I also had a headlight out which was a problem with the switch pack module. Replacing the SPM also fixed the light out on the dash...

None of mine light up except the parking lights when I turn them on. I already assumed burnt out led for start button, but how do you go about replacing the led for the headlight switch? Also is it possible to swap colors?

Someguy - could it possibly be the SPM?

Switch Pack Module. Under the binnacle. Controls the lights. One other board member had your problem. Replacing the SPM fixed it. So another possibility. You might want to PM Sir Lotus.

Will do. I'll see if replacing the led fixes my start light. And I'll see if that connector is unplugged. If I were to get my hands on a spare set of A/C and air recirculation switches, would I be able to swap them?

the led i bet will fix your start light. I was referring to the tiny lights used for the headlights status... i believe one member was troubleshooting a bad low beam, ended up replacing the spm to fix the low beam (it was not a bad bulb) and as an added bonus...his headlight status indicators next to the headlight buttons, or the led's in the buttons themselves - began working again. Apparently they had been out also. No guarantees - just another possibility which is why i recommend a chat w/ Sir Lotus if you can sweet talk him into it. :) He's the man on electrical ( or one of them)
