I have a 2005 Lotus Elise with a hard top. The interior of the hard top has a black thin padding, which becomes the ceiling of the car interior. I'm not certain how the padding is attached to the hard top. I suspect it is glued. My padding has become loose in a few sections, so some sections are stuck right to the hard top and other sections hang down slightly, maybe a half an inch. Most people would not notice this, but being half an inch lower causes the tip of my hair to hit the padding, so it is noticeable for me.

Obviously one fix would be to slice an opening in the padding and glue it down. However, I'd like to avoid cutting it open, if I can. Does anyone have other ideas for reattaching the padding, without cutting it open?
