Yep, a brilliant concept. Lotus took a rather bland car and tricked it up. At the time it was one of the fastest production cars. Too bad they were never imported into the US. It'd be nice to see Lotus engineering in the US tackle the project with an american or Japanese car.

A lot of the performance enhancements on cars are derived from Lotus Eng. input.

Hi Guys:

Several Omega/Carltons havew been imported into the USA under The Fed's "significant car" program. This allows limited use without crash testing, but I think they still must pass emissions.

I saw a left-hand driver (German) one for sale on PistonHeads for about $21,000 US dollars. Heck of a ride to blow away nearly any car on the road. Top end was somewhere around 175MPH and it seats four comfortably.
