standings error>

Excuse me Jack.

I believe the standings have an error. Sack's car was at the time of the first
event, not within the rules. I am sure Bob read the rules , a copy of which was issued to
all drivers. I understand he was given a "Freebee" by the organizers.
Had Mr. Sacs read the rules before showing up, he would have been aware that certain aerodynamics are not allowed, specifically his running boards which supposedly
add down force. If in fact this is true, then how could he score seasonal
points at Chuckwalla. I don't think starting at the back of the grid is a fair
handicap that makes any sense. If the organizers want a level playing field
to bring more people into the series the rules should be equal for
everyone without question. Are rules for the LCS, rules that can be bent and
broken? I hope not .
Therefore, Mr Sacs really has 39 points not what you posted.
If I am in error about this protest. Please post a reply.
Thanks
Victor

Hey Victor,

I'm just reporting (not making) the news. :)

I'm sure that Robbie would love to hear from you. I can't tell you whether you are in error or not, as I have no firsthand knowledge of what Bob was told regarding his "mods" and how they would affect his ability to score points at the Chuckwalla event.

Just to be clear -- they are not "my" standings -- I did not calculate nor create them.... they appear on the Lotus Cup USA site at ....http://www.lotuscupusa.us/images/uploads/LCUSA_2012_PointsStandings_Sheet1.pdf

All the best.

Just to clarify - I received no points for Race 1 at Chuckwalla due to DNF? I was under the impression that one receives points regardless of DNFing based on class position as long as they start the race. Or is there a rule that one must get farther than 100' from the start line to qualify for points ;-)

Bummer....
Glen,

Not to worry, you get to drop your worst 2 race finishes. IOW, they count your best 12 out of 14. ;)

Updated Points Standings thru Infineon (reflects extra points for fastest lap of the race):
