Greetings,

One of my hobbies is building model cars. I am currently building the old Monogram 1:24 scale Esprit sport 300. I am currently working on the engine bay/ I like to add additional detail such as wiring the spark plugs and distributor etc.I want to ad the ignition coil as the kit doesn't come with one, and wire it to the distributor, but I don't know where the ignition coil is mounted to the car. Often I search places like ebay motors for reference pictures, but I just can't find what I'm looking for this time and was wondering if one of you might be able to tell me or post picture of where the ignition coil goes?

Kind regards,

Justin.

On the right hand side of the engine bay attached to the top of the frame. There are two coils with two leads each.

They can still be found, but MSD changed the design to be somewhat different now adays. But I bought a new set last year for mine in the old design shown here. base plate have to be reused, carefully.

What is the advantage of the MSD? Stronger spark and multiple sparking? I had an MSD on an old Datsun race car. It made starting much better.

Is there a thread or info on these somewhere?
