Lotus Ltd. and Philadelphia Area Lotus Society (PALS)

Lotus Grand Touring Event (GTE)

August 1st through 3rd, 2014.

We have a wonderful weekend planned starting with our host hotel the Princeton Marriott at Forrestal in Princeton, NJ which is nestled into the wooded area of Forrestal Village directly off route one. Once you have checked into your four star guest room, the weekend will start off on Friday August 1st with a private reception 6pm to 8pm that includes butler service appetizers & a consumption bar (drinks paid for on own). The reception is for participants to get to know or reacquaint in a friendly relaxed atmosphere and talk about –what else – Lotus and the activities that lie ahead for the weekend.

Saturday morning will have a group breakfast buffet from 7:30am to 8:30am, followed by staging for the drive and a group photo in the hotel courtyard. Cars will depart shortly thereafter (around 9am) alone or in small groups. Each car will be supplied with detailed directions, with estimated time to complete each leg and a GPS address of the destination should the participant become lost or behind. While the total driving time for the day will be substantial, each leg is designed to be a reasonable distance and time in car with adequate time at the destination to take in the offerings and take care of personal needs.

Our three planned destinations during the drive on beautiful country roads in New Jersey are:
◾Sports & Specialist Cars, Hopewell, NJ (the only pure Lotus dealership in the USA)
◾Lamberville, NJ (known for antique shops and art galleries)
◾Grounds for Sculpture (42 acre beautifully landscaped facility with 270 sculpture on display)

We have several hours planned at Grounds for Sculpture so you may enjoy lunch on your own at Rat’s Restaurant – a fine dining experience – or the Peacock Café - a casual dining experience and have plenty of time to tour the grounds. Entry into Grounds for Sculpture will be included in the registration.

We will arrive back at the host hotel and in time for 6:30pm private dinner (and consumption bar) with more social time that will also include presentation of “awards”.

On Sunday participants may depart for home at their leisure or tour the Princeton area at suggested sites not included on the Saturday organized tour.

Registration is $85 for two participants sharing one car or $70 for a single participant. The number of registrants will be limited to 20 cars and their occupants. The car participating must be a Lotus and one of the occupants must be a Lotus Limited member.

Registration fees are to be paid to paypal account GSchostak at aol dot com and the full names of participant(s), Lotus Limited membership number (found on mailing label of reMarque), and model/year of the Lotus to be driven needs to be included in the comments on the email. Once registration payment is confirmed you will be given the information to pay the hotel and food package directly to the hotel via your personal credit card. Registration payments are non-refundable.

The hotel package includes single or double occupancy room for Friday and Saturday nights, the Friday reception (including butler service appetizers), Saturday breakfast buffet and Saturday dinner buffet and reception. The cost for the hotel package will be $503.58 for doubles and $377.14 for singles (not including registration fee and drinks).

We expect this event to sell out quickly and confirmations are only via a paid registration (PayPal) and paid hotel package (personal credit card). Unfortunately we cannot accommodate Saturday drive only participation.

Bump

This event was planned with wives/girlfriends and female Lotus owners in mind who want something more than just Lotus cars at the social gathering they are attending with their husband/boyfriend or partner. We have boutique shopping in Lambertville and sculpture gardens at Grounds for Sculpture in addition to the wonderful rural road trip in between each stage and, of course, the great friendship of all Lotus owners ;-)

The cut off date for registration for the Lotus GTE event is July 10th (in order to confirm hotel reservations). We have a diverse group of Lotus cars/owners coming to this event. Why not make a weekend of it and join us.
