I've been thinking about buying another car for a year or so, but until recently hadn't seriously considered a Lotus. However, I recently drove an Elise and am a convert! The car I drove is for sale, so if it passes its PPI with flying colors, and assuming a mutually satisfactory price is agreed on, I'll be an owner.

Reading the various threads posted here, I see that (as usual with low production cars) Lotus have their own set of issues, but I also see that they are all fixable relatively easily. I have some experience with a mid-engine car, so it's all kind of familiar, somewhat different solutions to the same problems.

I look forward to ownership and lots of fun drives!

Thanks for your suggestions! I know the radiator has not been replaced. The oil lines will have been done, I'll ask for special attention to be paid to the toe links and radiator during the PPI.

Got my Elise this morning!

Picked up my "new" 05 Elise this morning (first nice dry day in 1 1/2 weeks). I had a PPI done at Ron Tonkin (Lotus of Portland) and it got a very clean bill of health, so I had a complete service done, paid the owner, and drove it the hundred miles home. Magnetic blue, 20,500 miles, hard and soft tops, BWR supercharger, Larini cat delete and header, rear wing, Schott belts, and a bunch of other extras and addons. Went to the DMV and changed the title, so it's officially mine. Looks great sitting in my garage. :clap: Too bad it's going to rain until at least next Monday ...
