I am putting my pampered 2006 Lotus Exige up for sale. My wife and I are downsizing and the logistics of keeping the car will become more difficult.

Let me start off by saying that if you are shopping 2006 n/a Exiges looking for a low price deal, then this is not the car for you. If you are looking for an original stock Exige with very low miles in flawless, like-new condition then please read on. I realize that that the market for this particular car at the price I am asking is going to be very small (or maybe non-existent), but I am prepared to be patient and wait for the right buyer looking for this specific Exige.

Here are the vital statistics: 2006 Exige, Storm Titanium, all stock, black cloth seats, LSD, LTC, Star Shield, and AC. Current mileage: 7125. I preordered this car in 2005 and took delivery in April, 2006. To the best of my knowledge, it was one of the first Exiges to be out on the roads of California. It sees regular but light mileage on backcountry roads north of Santa Barbara (highway 33).

As previously stated, this Exige is in immaculate, showroom condition. I am the original owner. It has never been outside of the mild climate of Santa Barbara, CA and has been stored exclusively in a private garage. It does not have a single blemish or ding or chip. (The Star Shield is a little roughened behind the wheels, as you would expect it to be doing its job.) The front splitter has no cracks or scrapes. It runs perfectly and has no mechanical issues. No accidents. It has never been tracked. It has never been driven in the rain. Two sets of keys, original manuals, and Lotus spec car cover.

Asking price: $46,000

Thanks Motard!

As long as we had plentiful garage space the Exige has been the perfect accessory car dedicated to fun carving up the local twisties. I had always planned on keeping it pretty much forever (and treated it accordingly), but change happens, and not all of it good.

No doubt man. Mine might be on the block next summer...

You did it right and kept it clean. I have a fkn fortune in Mods in mine and won't see a bit more $ than what your asking and probably get on your clean version...

Good luck on your sale !

Well hopefully you won't have to part with your ride. It's hard to let go of these Exiges as they are genuinely irreplaceable. There is really nothing out there to duplicate their lightweight handling and fun. The main choice people have is the limited pool of used Exiges and Elises, which is only going to get smaller and more restrictive over time.

If you do have to sell your Exige then the best of luck to you also. Selling in the summer will give you a bigger pool of interested buyers. And values may improve over time.

Thanks Z.

Great avatar pic with your car! Storm Titanium was the obvious color choice for me. I love the Exige bright colors, but wanted a bit more stealth mode for the street -- less attention from law enforcement. Although calling a Lotus Exige stealthy in any color is an oxymoron.

Grew up in SB. Dons 1987.
I also have an Exige I bought new May 2006.

I hope you get what you're asking, because finding a pretty much stock pristine Lotus of any kind is getting more difficult.

Cheers,
Skottoman

Yeah. Local boy.

I have friends in Santa Cruz and go thru pretty regularly when touring up the coast, usually on my motorcycle (1999 Honda VFR 800). Beautiful area and great roads. Excellent riding north of town on the 9 and then the 35. Will keep an eye out for any Exiges and wave.

Darn--you're right! Thanks for correcting my syntax. I always wonder why the locals give me funny looks. Of course, there might be numerous reasons. . .

Actually headed north on the bike on Monday. Should hit "9 and then 35" late afternoon (sorry, but that just sounds weird). And then again Thursday mid to late morning. Will be on Lotus watch.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Peter and checking out the car today, and it's every bit as perfect as you'd imagine a 7k mile car to be. Any prospective buyers should have no hesitation buying this car knowing that it was maintained properly.

I just hope it's still for sale when I'm ready to purchase 2-3 months down the line

Thanks again, Peter!

Thanks Kelvin. It was good fun meeting and talking Lotus (and other car brands not to be mentioned here) with a fellow enthusiast. And welcome to Santa Barbara; I hope things go well for you here.
