It's also available as an option (from Lotus Sport) for the plain Exige. That's the main reason why I never quite believed that it made the car handle worse, like some people claim they heard from Lotus. Or that it wasn't needed. I don't think they would be offering it as an option for their flagship car if it didn't do anything good.

Hold on. Before you get carried away with your disgruntlement.

Is any Exige equipped with our Elise's Yamaha/Toyota drivetrain, or are they equipped with the Rover or another Euro standards drivetrain? The Exige LSD may not be compatible with the Fed Elise for a number of reasons I can think of.

S2 Exige does have the same powertrain as the Fed car/111R which makes the deletion all the more puzzling.

The next question then: <ul>Is the LSD tranny different from the Yamaha/Toyota one?</ul>

If yes, I think we have unearthed the nut of the problem.
