lots of debates recently, some heated.I don't know about Mac's. But, I've been wondering about what kind of tie down straps I should buy. I know that I need to strap the car down by the wheels and not by hooking onto the chassis or suspension. But, what type of wheel straps do folks out there recommend?
The slickest ones seem to be the single strap that goes over the tire. There isn't any chance of that damaging a wheel, but I wonder how secure it is. Is there any chance that due to movement of the car or the trailer that the the car could move sideways sufficiently for one or more of the straps to slide off?
Get the ones that have a "basket" - the strap goes over the top, and there is another one attached to the front and back to keep it centered and make sure it can't slip off. They are usually called a "Tire Net" although I've also seen them called "Tire Bonnets".The slickest ones seem to be the single strap that goes over the tire.
