Has anyone see this sticker on their car and realize the "Gross vehicel weight rating" is listed 2562 LBS (1162KG)? I thought the car should weight around 1900 LBS??

The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating is pretty meaningless on passenger cars -- it's the "All Together Weight" of the car with its maximum cargo capacity and a full tank of gas. I have no idea how they compute the maximum driver+passenger+cargo weight of the Elise, but there you have it.

It's really mostly for trucks that can be ticketed for overloading their GVWR capacity as a hazard.

You're probably looking for the "Curb Weight", which is the car read-to-drive with nobody in it. That number isn't required to be on the sticker.

Gross vehicle weight (GVW) is the total weight of a single vehicle plus its load

vs

Curb vehicle weight (CVW) which the weight of an automotive vehicle including fuel, coolant, and lubricants but excluding occupants and cargo.

thus 1920 lbs CVW vs (GVW) 2562 lbs

Just only allow skinny drivers and passengers and you can keep the GVW down to under 2220 lbs ;)
