i haven't been on LT for a while and it seems that the old sunday morning Marina Del Rey meets at the coffee bean have just died like Dany Bahar's career. Any interest in starting it back up?

Ideally, we would all meet at some sensible hour (not too early, not too late) and actually go for a drive, either in Malibu or maybe Angeles Crest. it eventually evolved into a sit and drink coffee meet with fewer and fewer people actually going on drives, presumably as the original owners with 05, 06 and 07 elise/exiges got fat and old as the years went on - you all know who you are! myself included :p

with cars now changing hands and a new batch of people in the community, i think it would be cool to meet new and old lotus people and get coffee and then actually drive.

what does everyone think???

Yo Jim,

I think the last time we met were just you, me and Mike. I drove the white exige. We met Frank in Malibu near that lookout area. Have pics from then.

I drove by recently on a sunday. You're right. We got lazy. lol!

EDITED!!!! NEW LOCATION!!!!

location is:
STARBUCKS COFFEE MARINA DEL REY
4700 ADMIRALTY WAY @ MINDANAO
MARINA DEL REY CA 90292

In the shopping center between Lincoln and Admiralty between Mindanao and Fiji
Just south of where the Marina 90 freeway ends at Lincoln Blvd.
Theres a Ralphs Market, WestMarine, California Pizza Kitchen and Chipotle in the complex.
We're right in front of the Starbucks.

I'll get there around about 9AM. drink coffee and meet and greet and probably (realistically) leave around 10AM for a drive. no set schedules, no set routes, we can discuss and decide amongst ourselves. no walkee talkees, no big whoop. as long as your fuel supply and your times allow.

speaking of fuel, if you do plan to go on the drive, please make sure you arrive with enough fuel by 10AM.

I won't be able to make it for the next few Sundays, but I'm interested and will save the address if people are still going in a month or so.

i've got some responses back from others who will come out so no worries if you can't make this weekend. we'll attempt to keep this going for a while and hopefully enough people show up regularly to sustain this meet, at least until everyone starts getting lazy again ;)

I can't make Sundays anymore. Used to like hanging out for coffee then going for a drive. Let me know if you guys meet on a sat morning.

I miss those drives. I'd be interested if Morgan, Marcus and Rachel come along also.

nice seeing everyone yesterday! i hope yesterday jump starts this weekly Marina Del Rey meet again, and that we continue driving!!

there was a discussion about moving this venue to the other side of Lincoln Blvd. where the "Million Dollar Breakfast Club" happens at the Starbucks every sunday. It's a good gathering of old metal and a hodge podge of American and euro stuff. the only consideration is that those old timers start early (like all these damn meets it seems) at 7AM and they clear out by 9AM. so maybe we show up at 8:30ish and keep the tail end of the meet going till around 9:30-10ish and then go for a drive afterwards.

thoughts?
