Lots of the Lotus group were there. It was a blast!
I promised a few that I would post a photo of my "broken car".
Back story:
I was on street tires (Falken Azinis) and they were so worn, they were not up to the task of doing south bend at 95+mph. I was in a 4wheel drift to the track out (2 wheels off... 4 wheels off) settled the car, looked in my mirror to pull back on and then launched into the air a few times (felt like 3 feet or so). The bouncing caused me to lose control of the car (or so I thought) and begin to slide right at the tire wall at the bottom of the hill. As in my driver door was aiming at the middle of the wall.
Well, as I got closer, I started to slide away from the wall, and thought "just the tip" would hit the wall and send me in a spin. I got lucky though, because from my angle (in the car) I didn't hit at all. I ended up past the wall, and my car would not start (clutch hose was gone and I had no pressure).
When I got out of the car after the session ended, I noticed 2 things right away (besides that I had no clutch)
1 - my drivers side rear tire was folded up inside my wheel well exposing the entire wheel
2 - I missed the tire wall by zero inches. I skimmed it "Pro-Drift" style leaving some tire smudges on my bumper.
Look at the photo, look at my tire tracks. Now explain HOW I missed that wall?
I love the track!
