I hope this is read in the spirit it is intended. I want to add some way of remembering those that have passed on, forum members. It is horrible we have lost people now. But I want us to remember them and their lives and also, perhaps we may learn something from what is otherwise just tragedy. I reserve the right to remove posts that are not in the spirit of this thread. As a community, we were better for having had them with us, and we are lessened by their passing on.

At 9 a.m. Saturday, Thanh Huynh, 34, of Stockton was driving a 2005 Lotus on Wentworth Springs Road west of Ice House Road when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer.

Huynh was not injured after he ran off the road and crashed into some rocks, but his wife, Tracey, 33, sustained a laceration to her head. She was flown to Sutter Hospital in Roseville where she later died, Beckley said.

Man dies after 3-vehicle wreck

An Austin man died Thursday after the car he was driving collided with two pickups in western Travis County, a Texas Department of Public Safety official said.

Jack Griffith, 41, was traveling west at a high speed on FM 2244 between West Lake Hills and Bee Cave just after 1:30 p.m. when he lost control of his car and hit an eastbound GMC pickup driven by William Jackson, 42, of Austin, DPS communications operator Analisa Guerra said. Then the car collided with an eastbound Ford pickup driven by Cutberto Segura, 29, of Austin, Guerra said.

Griffith was taken to Brackenridge Hospital, where he died.

A nice tribute to those with whom - whether we knew them or not - shared a common thread. May they all rest in peace.

Great idea in good taste - I hope there will be no more additions!

Yes, let's hope this thread stays short.

RIP All.

Wow, A good thread to have them all in one place- but certainly sad to see there was that many.

And i can't believe that a google ad pops up at the bottom for another site to do the same thing. Seems pretty tasteless.

Thanks Randy very well done. Starting with the first accident with Thanh Huynh and his wife , it made me realize that driving a small little mid engine sports car takes some extra care and thought. Because of these accidents I no longer drive any where close to the limits on public roads on weekend group drives, or on my own, and especially when I have my wife onboard. I also drive at all times as if I were on a motorcycle. I look both ways when approaching ALL intersections, and try to stay in middle lanes with cars acting as shields on each side of me as I go through major fast intersections. I also assume that nobody sees me - ever ! I never drive in people's blind spots for more than a few seconds. Every morning and evening when I hop in the car I start the engine and sit there for a full counted minute. Not only letting the engine get some temp but also to clear my mind and focus only on driving, not work or home issues . Almost like a game I make myself wait that full minute and then I am cleared for takeoff....

Last January early one morning I came pretty close to being added to this list ......

That is a good post delise... my wife and I had a close call last summer.. and I think the biggest risk for me is other drivers who just don't see these cars.. ever. I'm getting more paranoid about the spirited drives as well... they are all high speed and a big risk.

Thanks for that post.
