I'm 99% sure that I'm trading my '06 Exige this weekend (pending details on financing). I'm going the other way and buying a 997 Carrera S. The dealer is giving me $37k for it & I'm quite sure they'd be happy to flip it to you for very close to that price. They would likely take your 996 in trade because they are a Porsche / Lotus dealer.

Exigent it's a nice car but not the right color.
All the very best with the 997, I decided against the 997 simply becuase it was not enough of a change for me and the money that I've put into my 996.

I'm now opting for an 05 Elise or 06 Exige and build it to my spec and pocket the remaining $$$.

Since my Ardent Red Exige wasn't the right color, I think the odds of your Elise being the right color are pretty slim.

I have a 2006 Lotus Exige Graphite Grey. I was told there are about 6 Graphite Grey '06's in the US. The car is in perfect condition. I have a buyer in Houston who says he has to wait a week for the financing. I told him I was going to continue to shop it because I have a car waiting for me at a Porsche Dealership. patience...especially for an Exige.

06 and 07 together, there might be 500 to 600 total Exiges in the country.

Factoring your color preferences and geographic footprint...maybe a couple dozen cars total fit your bill.

Now you've got to find one of those few guys who's ready to sell...

Including Elise's opens up your options considerably, but a car meeting all your criteria that's also for sale may still be a rare bird in the short term.

You could only offer $33.5 for my 06 Exige and stated " I do have another Exige in Chrome Orange which is my first choice and the owner has accepted my offer but it is another 200 miles further" did this not pan out ?

Nothing happened to the CO Exige, it is available to me. I solely replied to the Individual in FL since he posed a question.

The CO is clearly far better than what I have seen listed here. Goodluck with your's guvnor.
