I've finally eviscerated the twin oil coolers and lines then installed the Laminova heat exchanger to cure my oil line recall problem.

The first thing that had to go was the sandwich plate with the thermostat. Good thing that Mocal made the one that Lotus uses so a MOC-SP1 was a direct replacement. The center thread was re-used and the one supplied was not used. I also got the Mocal 1/2" BSP x -10 fitting - 1 Pair for the sandwich plate. I got those from here. I got 5 each of the 90-degree fittings and 1 each straight in AN-10 size from here
Red and Blue Reusable Fittings

I got a 10-foot section Aeroquip SS line from here
Stainless Steel Braided Hose - -10 Aeroquip Stainless Steel Braided Hose

This is heat exchanger that Lotus uses in their kits with 32-mm push-on fittings and -10 AN thread-on for the oil side.
Laminar Flow Oil to Water Heat Exchangers - Mocal Laminar Flow Oil to Water Heat Exchanger- Medium with Push-On Hose Water Connections

All that is needed for the engine bay is two more hose clamps to hold in the heat exchanger in the water return line. Just cut an 8" section out of the hose, and away you go!

Up front, the Lotus kit also includes a ProAlloy, 3-pass radiator...here is a single pass radiator in the same dimensions that I've used.

Up in the right, rear wheel well is where I routed the OEM "T" and check-valve for the Accusump. Never mind the drop light...you don't see the drop light at the top of the engine...

I tried to get a better shot of the sandwich plate...but...
ALSO!!!! This is a big gotch yah!!! The inlet and the outlet of the Mocal thermostat sandwich plate is backwards from the Mocal plain sandwich plate.

And here is looking deeper up through the engine, off to the right side where the two -10 AN lines go up to the right rear wheel well.

I am interested in what oil temps you see now compared to the old front radiators... as I will be installing my Laminova soon....

Just FYI.

There are some great sources for race parts in the mid-West.

Summit ann Jegs and also Motor State. I find their prices very competitive. Pick the one that offers free shipping.

I used to run Aeroquip exclusively with special fittings from Earl's. I watched XRP get better and better. I use XRP, now. There are a bunch of knock-off's and no-name brands, now...

P.S. If You were going to run a sandwich plate, must as well switch to better external filter. See Canton or System1.

I don't have a temperature probe... :mad:
It looks like Lotus went to good sweadgedon fittings but spiced into the good line to "T" in the Accusump...they just used those Oetel clamps and that was the one that was leaking for me...here was the OEM setup...and the soarce of my leak!

So my main purpose was to fix the leaking oil and to relocate the oil radiators from the most vulnerable part of the car (the forward outboard corners) and put it in the safest part of the car (on the firewall).

I've purchased from Jegs before and have drooled over Summit's catalog... I guess having an aerospace engineering background, I went with the tried and true AN fittings...I know they work!

Yeah...I know about the oil filters...Its just that I bought 10 of them and now just using them up...not going on any tracks yet, but when I do, I'll stick on a big'un.

Thanks! In this low 50s high 40s temperatures we are having here in Cincinnati, I got soaked in oil and antifreeze...what a PITA to do!

But I did let it idle until the coolant temp got up to 98C so the fans would come on and then back down to 94C when they cut off. That was a good 45 minutes! Temperatures got real stable and I checked for leaks...none to be found! :clap:

Almost exact setup I've got.
Around town dinking around, coolant is stable at 195, oil temp is 180 to 190.
On track coolant again 190 to 195, oil temp 220 to 250.

I've looked very closely at the new sandwich plate and I don't think this is correct. Anyone else care to comment and confirm or deny?

With the Mishimoto plate installed on the engine, and you on your back looking up at the plate, the right hand side (also the driver side on left hand drive cars ?) is the outlet.
