really? i guess we've heard conflicting stories. I heard it just happened a few months ago, and she was okay afterwards.

The sick thing is you know the news anchors were trying as hard as they could to hold back their laughter....

and the cameraman didn't exactly rush to her aid....

Would you? The bit*# was cheating. We're always wishing bad things to cheaters. This one actually took.

Eek! I don't think she was "cheating" per se... looked more like she was hamming it up as a "cheat" to be funny, because she knew she was gonna lose anyway. OMG I feel so bad for her, though. She really didn't deserve to get hurt like that. And I'm sure her career was finished afterwards, too.

I'll tell you what, though, that whole video is a tribute to the disgusting lack of humanity in tv news today. These people just saw their coworker get hurt really bad - they even attest to it - and yet they can't be real about it and show emotion about it. Instead, they put on their fake ass facade and talk their way to a commercial. I love the Tech TV one, because at least the people show emotion about the loss!

Randy, that's good to hear, but I still empathize for her. I feel so bad watching some of the videos from those sites. There's one on ebaums of a guy autocrossing his z06, losing control, and running over an onlooker. How awful! I didn't post the link because it's not something I'd have chosen to see myself.

PS - When my gf and I go to Road Atlanta (once the Elise comes), we're planning to stay at Chateau Elan (the place where the grape clip was filmed).

It does look like an awesome place and the prices seem reasonable.

re: Corvette video Pretty famous video in the autocross world. Done at the Corvette Museum thingie for an annual event. They do not follow SCCA guidelines for courseworkers and spectators.

The guy was alright.

Chateau Elan is a wonderful place. Been there many times. They have the annual British car day there every year, I missed this year. I think Panoz still owns it, but not sure.

It's a great place to stay.

Back in fall of 2000 I did a race at Road Atlanta with my E30 M3 race car. I went to the Chateau Elan with my local NJ Chapter of the BMW Club for dinner. I would give it 5 out of 5 stars. Great place for food and wine. Plus it's just down the road from the track.

After seeing this video I would not stomp grapes without my race helmet. LOL
