and i tried the "reset" idea, where you hold both fob buttons down for 10 seconds and then the large button... that did nothing.
If you can run jumper cables from another car to your battery, this would give you enough voltage to shut off the alarm. Once you have the alarm off, remove the jumper cables and then the negative battery cable from the weak battery until you can get it charged up again. As long as the alarm is armed and connected to that weak battery the backup battery for the alarm will continue to sound the siren. Just pulling a battery cable without shutting off the alarm will not change your present situation.welll i've gone thru most of LT looking for a solution...
Viper if u're here, do u think i need to disconnect the battery? i dont know why that'd help but I'm up for anything. I really dont want the alarm going off anymore (there's a very old neighbor next door) THANKS

You need to access the battery and restore full voltage to the car even if the alarm is still blaring. You then need to shut off the alarm by using the remote, but if that no longer works, you will have to resync. your fob or use the manual method of entering your alarm PIN using the ignition key to turn off the alarm. Right now the alarm thinks someone is stealing your car (low voltage and a door has been opened with the alarm still armed) and it won't stop until you get full voltage restored and the alarm off. Is there anyone there that can jump your battery to a fully charged one or has a start pack that you can attach to your weak battery?right..."shut off the alarm"... i must be dumber than i thought, but HOW DO I shut off the alarm? this is why I started this thread... like i said the fob isnt doing anything even tho the red lite is on.
Yes, that is correct and in the best case scenario, your fob should work again without having to do anything else.ok so if i understand, i should allow the alarm to periodically sound while i pump more voltage into the battery from my other car? eventully it gets enuff power to respond to the fob?
There is no way to know until you restore full voltage to the alarm and try the fob.i wonder if i messed it up by resetting it so many times...this is beyond frustrating. i got 2+ hours into this. more time than i spend driving the car in a week.
yeah, we covered that .... the good car has been hooked up and revved > 2000 rpm. etc... this is confounding.
and now the speedo and tach are stuck, not anywehre near zero
