my car arrived in port Oct. 2--not here yet :( Florida is closer to port though.

did you get starshield?
Hi atyclb,

Sounds like our cars were shipmates! Mine arrived at my dealer in Houston with Starshield applied on Friday the 15th.

When I found out my ship had come in I called LCU to get an idea when the car might arrive at the dealer. They thought it would be the end of the month. They really have no control as to what order the containers are unloaded, what order cars get trucked to the processing center and then when they get processed. The number of cars at the port at one time is also a factor. I was told the average time has been about three weeks. However, roundabout the time our ship was scheduled to dock there was another hurricane expected to blow in.

At least the end of our wait is in sight! I'm in NY and I'll be headed for Houston on Saturday. My 2 year 10 month wait will be over. I'm really going to enjoy the ride home. :D

Wishing you clear roads,
David Nagler

wow! that could be record time!

congrats!
YOu guys got the fact that BMW, Merc Volvo etc. have probably gotten most of the cars in for the period, which frees up covered transport for tiny Lotus, probably why they're moving out relatively quickly now.

not so sure about that--BMW has been sending over the first batches of '05's right around this same time.
aty,
I see dealers for volvo, saying theyr'e 05s are in. and as this distribution center's big customer is volvo that would explain the extra transport. It was explained to me perhaps 3 months ago, that the covered transport on the east coast was booked solid for around 2-3 months, well, it's been 2-3 months and lookit, elises are starting to get to the dealers faster.

At any rate, somethings happened to see the cars moving out to dealers as fast as they've been the last week or two.:)

Congrats!!

528?

That seems low. Especially with Steadicam saying regarding production: "It's over 750. By a lot."

That would imply there are at least 225 cars in transit right now.

The month-old info I have is that my #650 is expected to arrive late next week, so maybe there's a bit of a surge coming our way.
Ground loop,
From very fuzzy memory, there are at least 100 Elises on the water at any given time, and I'm not sure the number isn't even higher than that (like 150-200).

If the entire week's production of nearly 50 cars is shipped once a week, and East coast boats take 2 weeks and West coat boats taking 3, then my fuzzy numbers seem to hold water. Randy has posted something like this before.

Yes. I think so. Maybe. They had a number that sounded like a VIN, so I'm clinging to it until someone destroys my fantasy.
Thanks GL! I got my VIN! Finally!! I wanted a fantasy just like yours. :p
