Does anyone have a year-by-year account of the second generation Elise? Someday I'd like to pick up a used one, though it is hard for me to remember what Lotus changed/enhanced each year. For example, which was the first year for the Toyota engine, the revised seats everyone raved about, etc?

I'll start it off with;

All Federal Elises, and Exiges, have a Toyota powerplant.

And it's my understanding that the ProBax seats were standard starting in 2006, and are still being supplied on the cars today both Elise and Exige (slightly different seats, but both ProBax).

I'm not sure that everyone's raving about them, and I myself don't really know the differences from the ones on the 2005 models.
